On August 27, the Guangzhou-hosted Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area "Vegetable Basket" Construction Exchange Conference saw the official launch of the region's electronic information platform for the "Vegetable Basket" initiative. Through this platform, users can scan a QR code to access comprehensive quality and safety information for all agricultural products listed on the platform. Powered by integrated subsystems—including e-commerce, warehousing & logistics, and secure traceability—users can now enjoy features like product origin tracking, supply chain monitoring, and real-time access to production and sales data.
In May of this year, the "Vegetable Basket" project for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was launched in Guangzhou. The project sets agricultural product quality and safety standards—specifically those used to supply Hong Kong and Macao—as its benchmark, with "green food" and "organic food" identified as its key development directions. Its goal is to create a reliable and convenient supply-and-demand platform for residents of the Greater Bay Area, ensuring they can enjoy both peace-of-mind when it comes to food safety and satisfaction when shopping for fresh produce. The project is expected to be fully completed and operational by the first half of 2020, paving the way for the Greater Bay Area to share a unified "vegetable basket" system.
